Acting Out Our Lessons!

The fourth and fifth graders developed skits to illustrate our character development lesson of respect.  They had a great time and learned a lot.

States of Fifth Grade

The fifth grade took advantage of the map painted on the parking lot to reinforce their learning of all the states and capitals. They had a great time!

Testing Proper Procedures

The fifth graders conducted a fun science experiment focusing on using proper science procedures.  They tested 3 different types of floors to see which one allowed the ball to bounce the highest.  The focus was on using proper methods such as keeping all variables but one constant, recording accurate data, and using the equipment properly.  It was a bouncing good time!

Time for School!!!!

Set you alarm clock and pack your lunch.  August 13 is the first day of school!  I am so excited to see you all.  Parents, please join us for chapel at 8:10!  See you tomorrow.

Field Day Fun!!!!!!!

Mineral Properties

The fifth graders used observation to determine the properties of many minerals.  They charted the color, hardness and streak of several minerals to determined ways to classify them.  Everyone's favorite mineral was pyrite!

Working on the Science Fair!

The fifth graders used the CLS iPads to work on research for their science fair paper.  Due Friday, they are working hard to finish.

WE WON!!!!

Ringing in the Olympics

Today during Olympic Fun time, the fifth grade learned about the symbolism of the Olympic Rings.  Ask a fifth

grader to tell you the meaning behind the symbol.

Olympic Fun

The fifth grade celebrated the beginning of the Olympics by creating their own Olympic torch - not with real fire (insert disappointed face here!)  We will spend time next week learning about the history of the Olympics and participating in fun activities.  Go Team USA!

New (Returning) Student

The fifth grade class is happy to welcome back Seamus! His family moved away after last year, but now they are back.  We are so glad to have him back in the CLS family!

Pep Rally and Grandparent's Day

The fifth graders enjoyed spending time with their grandparents today.  After a guided tour of CLS (provided by their grandchildren), we filled the gym and showed our CLS pride with a Pep Rally.  As always, Flash was a huge hit!

All three basketball teams play tonight starting at 6:00 pm.  Join us and cheer on CLS!

Fifth graders celebrate NLSW pajama day!  This should have saved some time this morning!

Blue and Gold Day

Fifth grade was decked out in CLS Blue and Gold to celebrate the first day of National Lutheran Schools Week.  WE LOVE CLS!
